you know when you wake up in the morning and you just know it's going to be a good day? i've been thinking about that a lot lately. i mean, if you are going to disneyland or hawaii or something like that, then duh, you're probably going to have a good day, but i'm just talking about when it's a average day.
i think it is all relative to your point of view.
if you wake up in the morning and the first thing you think about is how you're tired or how you want to sleep or how you hate whatever it is you have to do that day, then you are setting yourself up for disappointment because that is all you are looking for.
BUT what if you wake up and think about everything good that is happening? ...like the fact that you didn't have to wake up any earlier than you did, or the fact that you don't feel sick, or the fact that you have a family that you can go say 'good morning' to, or the fact that you have a really cute outfit you can wear, or the fact that you are having a good hair day, or whatever. there is always something good happening isn't there? we just get so used to all the good that we start forgetting it's even there.
that's what i've been doing lately. during any time in the last month or so, if you asked me, 'how was your day?' i would probably reply, 'boring' or 'i'm just tired' or 'i guess it was fine'. i didn't even pay attention to the good. i've just been caring too much about the bad stuff.
i was talking to my friend kylee one time and she was telling me how she wished everybody asked each other 'what's good?' inside of 'what's up?' or 'how's it going?' because that way people would have to find something good that happened to them everyday.
how awesome would that be?!
i'm trying to replace 'how's it going' with 'what's good' now. because that is the type of world i want to live in, the kind where people are always trying to focus on the good stuff.
sure bad things will come up, but the only way to get through it is to keep our chins up and focus on what is going right, even if that is something little.
so i've just got one more thing to say and then i will stop rambling on and on...
what's good with you today?

You...you are one of the "what's good" for me today. Love this post...and love you.
